Ṣadaqat al-Fiṭr
Ṣadaqat al-Fiṭr is a special charity given at the conclusion of Ramadan. It is a required duty upon every Muslim; man, woman, and child, who possesses provisions beyond their immediate needs. The head of the household is responsible for giving on behalf of their dependents.
What is it for?
1️⃣ Purification: It purifies the fasting person from any indecent speech, or minor sins committed during Ramadan.
2️⃣ Provision: It provides food for those in need, enabling them to share in the joy of Eid.
Amount and Timing
The monetary value of it in the UK is commonly £5. If you can pay more, that’s even better. You may give it from now until the end of Ramadan.
How to Pay Ṣadaqat al-Fiṭr?
You may distribute it directly to those in need yourself. Alternatively, you can give it through Bath Mosque in one of the following ways:
